If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Kolkata, be sure to take a detour to Cafe 1A, a hidden gem nestled at 1A, Sangeet Sarani Rd, Golpark. This quaint cafe offers more than just a meal; it provides an intimate dining experience that captures the essence of local flavor.

Despite its compact size, Cafe 1A is brimming with personality. Ascend the narrow spiral staircase and be greeted by a warm, cozy ambiance that is perfect for a casual meal or a quiet coffee break. The space may feel snug, accommodating only a handful of hungry patrons at once, but the friendly atmosphere makes it a delightful stop for anyone nearby, including those from the bustling Amri Hospital area.

The menu at Cafe 1A boasts a variety of tempting dishes that reflect the diverse tastes of its clientele. If you're in the mood for hearty comfort food, the chicken fried rice and chilli chicken combo is a must-try, expertly crafted by the talented Chef Mili Di. Diners have raved about the rich, flavorful gravy that elevates the dish to a new level of deliciousness.

For lighter fare, momosas paired with a fresh cup of coffee are a popular choice among regulars, as noted by Bodhi, a frequent visitor who enjoys snacking here often. The tiny cafe’s charm lies in simplicity—a satisfying meal accompanied by heartfelt service.

While some customers have expressed mixed feelings regarding certain dishes, such as the special fried ice cream, the majority agree that the overall experience at Cafe 1A is enhanced by its welcoming vibe and the attentiveness of its team. Shreyan Chatterjee eloquently highlights that although the space is limited, it can be a lovely date spot, perfect for couples looking to share a warm meal in a unique setting.

So whether you are popping in for some quick sandwiches or lingering over a steaming bowl of comforting rice, Cafe 1A is an emerging highlight on Kolkata's culinary map. Don't overlook this charming enclave—your taste buds will thank you!

I had gone to pickup some sandwiches. It's a small place but food is good. Covid has made them a bit slow but I'm sure they will catch up.

I work right across the street from this friendly, tiny cafe and have been snacking there for the last year. So, I'm clearly biased. But it feels so cosy to climb up the spiral staircase and settle in the small tables for my usual fare of momos or sandwiches, washed down with some coffee. Have also rarely tried a pizza or a soup, but have not gone through the rest of the menu at all, so can't comment. However, on those bad days when work stress is really getting to you, their cold coffee with ice cream and choco chips is sure to drown your sorrows in a wave of decadent creamy goodness. Statutory warning: Large groups of people with vertigo, don't go in :p

This is a tiny cafe located near Amri Hospital, Dhakuria. The cafe looks smaller from outside than it actually is.The sitting area is on the top floor and the stairs are dangerously narrow and unsteady. But the place is well-maintained and clean. The prices are moderate but the food quality and quantity were not as great as promised. The menu special fried ice-cream was a bit disappointing despite the good presentation since there was more bread than ice-cream.

The food was good. Especially the sweet chicken curry. It's a very good location. Good for couples. But its very very small. There's no washroom. Maximum 8 people can have their meal in the cafe.
